Myers La Roche are to sponsor Fight For Sight at Optrafair 2007.

Liz Calcutt, Marketing Manager, said, "We are pleased to announce that Myers La Roche will be sponsoring Fight For Sight at Optrafair."

Every five seconds one person in the world goes blind. Every day in the UK about 100 people start to lose their sight. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) results in half of all registered blindness in the UK, affecting half a million people. There are no cures or truly effective treatments for AMD and sight loss is irreversible.

For over 40 years, Fight for Sight has been at the forefront of research into the prevention of blindness and treatment of eye disease in the UK. Since 2001, Fight for Sight has committed £13 million to eye research - at the Institute of Ophthalmology, research partner to the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, and other centres of excellence across the UK.

Liz Calcutt continued:  "For everyone who enters the competition to win a Computer on our stand at Optrafair, Myers La Roche will make a donation to Fight For Sight."
