Independent practitioners from across the UK gathered together recently for the latest Management and Business Academy (MBA) event sponsored by CIBA Vision.

There were 3 practice management experts at the MBA to present to the group some practical advice for the day to day running of a practice. The MBA also gave delegates an opportunity to interact with other practitioners.

The purpose of the event was to communicate to delegates a wide range of topics to assist them in running their practice; topics included growing your business, improving patient loyalty, increasing revenue per patient, marketing your practice and lots more.

Patrick Myers from Myers La Roche presented to the group the findings of an in depth study that was carried out prior to the event. Each attendee completed a detailed questionnaire which was sent to Myers La Roche, the information from all the practices was analysed and each practice received a confidential report showing how their practice compared with others in the group.

Gary Gerber from specialist consultants The Power Practice flew over from New Jersey to talk to delegates about how to create patient loyalty, ensuring patients come back to your practice and also the importance of marketing to generate new patients. Gary also entertained the audience with an array of fantastic magical illusions.

Increasing the amount of revenue per patient was a topic that Shelly Bansal discussed with delegates, including how to ’bundle’ products together to increase the amount each patient spends. Shelly talked about the success of payment plans at his practice; all patients pay for examinations and products on a monthly direct debit plan and he showed delegates how they could do the same.
